He is Lord of All

The Lord does not have favorites or grandchildren.

This December, we're embarking on a special spiritual journey centered around the true reason for the season – our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ! Join us as we delve into daily devotionals dedicated to exploring the life, teachings, and profound love of Jesus.

Romans 2:11, "For there is no respect of persons with God."

December 13, 2023, by Dr. George Bing

In today's Daily devotional, we will be continuing our discussion on the greatest name, Jesus Christ, and His power to heal. In some of our most recent Daily devotionals on this subject, we established that Jesus Christ is compassionate and desires to heal us when we are sick. The Bible references the Apostle John as Luke writes about Jesus Christ, "(He is Lord of all)" (Acts 10:36c). He adds, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil; for God was with Him" (Acts 10:38).

Several important points are made in this passage of scripture. This again confirms that sickness does not come from God, but is inflicted on us by the devil. Another important point made here is that it confirms that Jesus went about healing all people who had been wounded by the devil with sickness. Jesus is not a respecter of persons, as stated in Romans 2:11, "For there is no respect of persons with God."

The Lord does not have favorites or grandchildren. In other words, His healing is available to all individuals. There are many instances recorded in the Bible where Jesus went about laying hands on people and healing them. The story I will highlight today is about a woman whose daughter was sick, and she requested the Lord to heal her. The reason we are drawing attention to this story is because the woman involved was a Gentile (non-Jewish), which illustrates the fact that Jesus heals all people in need. The question arises: would He heal this Gentile woman's daughter?

Tomorrow, we will see the Lord's will. The Apostle Peter, speaking to the first recorded Gentile believer, says, "You know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to keep company or come unto one of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean" (Acts 10:28). What are your thoughts?
