In this special edition daily devotional, we invite you to embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving and cultivate a heart overflowing with gratitude towards the Lord.

“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them”(Acts 16:25).

In yesterday's Daily Devotional, we initiated a discussion on giving thanks to the Lord for restoration. Today, we will conclude this topic. Yesterday, we highlighted numerous extraordinary occurrences that could only have been accomplished by God, who possesses ultimate power. However, it is understandable to have reservations about these supernatural events, as they all took place in the Old Testament. Nevertheless, the Bible assures us in Malachi 3:6, "For I am the LORD, and I do not change."

The same God who accomplished those remarkable deeds in the Old Testament continued to perform extraordinary acts in the New Testament as well. Following the execution of James, the brother of John the Beloved, by King Herod, Peter was imprisoned. Despite the imminent threat of death and being guarded by four squads of soldiers, God miraculously freed the Apostle Peter from prison. The Church fervently prayed for him without ceasing, as stated in Acts 12:5 “Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.”

Yes God sent an Angel to lead him out of the prison through the City gates. The Apostle Paul escaped death more than several times, but the event that most people are familiar with was when Paul and Silas were thrown into the inner jail in Philippi. “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them”(Acts 16:25). After giving God thanks even before they were officially free; you know the story. They were delivered and restored to an even better status than before. If you are His child the Lord knows what you have lost and so why believe the enemy that’s telling you not to give God thanks now?

“Calleth those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17). I believe that a person who is more than a conqueror is a Believer who practices this premise to praise God before what you desire comes to fruition! Hallelujah! “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you” (Joel 2:25). What are your thoughts?
