“Rejoice evermore” (I Thessalonians 5:16).

November 18, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

In today's daily devotional, we will be discussing giving thanks to the Lord for His grace. Through our previous devotionals, we have discovered from the Word of God that the Lord desires everyone to sing praises unto Him. God has granted every individual in this world the opportunity to receive eternal life by accepting Him into our hearts. Along with this incredible gift comes an abundant life. The Lord has graciously extended His grace to us through His Son, Jesus Christ.

I would like to give you a few scenarios and then I would like you to make an honest choice with regard to which one would you choose. You’re on the road and suddenly you hear a siren and look in your rearview mirror and you see a law enforcement officer behind you and obviously, he wants you to pull over.

Now on the side of the road, he walks up to you and asks you for your license and registration. You ask him why he pulled you over and he advises that you were going 65 miles an hour in a 55 mile an hour zone. You apologize for speeding and ask the officer to please not to cite you. He advises you that he is going to let you off without issuing you a citation and you obviously are rejoicing.

Again, you are traveling on your way to Church. You hear the siren and see the blue lights turning in your rearview mirror. You pull over and the officer comes up to your window. He requests for your license and registration and you comply as you ask him why he stopped you. He advises that you were going 65 miles an hour in a 55-mile-an-hour zone. The conclusion of tomorrow the Lord’s will. The Apostle Paul says “Rejoice evermore” (I Thessalonians 5:16). What are your thoughts?
