In today's Daily devotional, we will be discussing the importance of giving thanks always. Is everything in your life perfect? Do you have everything you want in this world? Are there concerns and challenges in your life? Do you face adversity every day? Do all people wish you well and speak highly of you? Have you experienced being lied to? How about instances where people you have loved and trusted have violated that trust?

Believe it or not, welcome to the real world. People are imperfect and can disappoint us, even our loved ones at times. They fall short because perfection is unattainable. The Sweet psalmist of Israel and great king David expressed this sentiment in Psalm 60:11, saying, “Give us help from trouble: For vain is the help of man.” David himself experienced the letdown of friends when he needed their support the most. So, why is our topic today "Giving thanks always" when everything may not be going well in life?

I thought that you would never ask. Rejoicing does not come from outside circumstances, but it comes from the inside. In layman’s terms, our rejoicing is not contingent upon the circumstances and obstacles we may be facing in life, but the rejoicing comes from the heart of the Believing knowing that the Lord is with us. The joy of knowing that the Lord will take us through everything that we may endure is what is expressed through our apparatus known as the tongue. It is literally supposed to be a divine apparatus to glorify the Lord.

We live in a fallen world and so everything is never going to be perfect. But we serve a God who is and can remedy anything going on around us at His appointed time. “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice” (Philippians 4:4). What are your thoughts?
