Give Thanks to the Lord for He is Good

God knows everything about you, yet He still loves you.

In this special edition daily devotional, we invite you to embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving and cultivate a heart overflowing with gratitude towards the Lord.

The Apostle Peter warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, saying, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour."

In today's Daily Devotional, we will be discussing the importance of giving thanks to the Lord for He is good. Have you ever found yourself blaming God for something unfortunate that happened? I believe that most of us have, at least in our thoughts, even if we never vocalized it. When something tragic occurs or unexpected negative circumstances arise, it's common for us to question God's goodness. While bad things do happen, it's interesting to note that people tend to blame God more than the enemy. Have you ever wondered why that is?

One thing I can tell you is that humans often avoid taking responsibility for their own actions, and I include myself as the writer here. The tendency to shift blame began in the Garden of Eden when Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the serpent for the introduction of sin into the world. More often than not, we are guilty ourselves of making poor choices that lead to our own suffering. However, the ultimate source of evil comes from the enemy and his minions. The Apostle Peter warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, saying, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour."

That is the real enemy, as God only has our best interests at heart, and that's what makes Him good. Do people know EVERYTHING about you? Are there choices you have made that you feel ashamed of and wouldn't want others to know? God knows everything about you, yet He still loves you. It's truly amazing that He loves us despite our flaws and quirks. He will never abandon or forsake you, unlike people in our lives whom we may have trusted at times. Yes, the Lord is good and deserving of our praise! “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5). What are your thoughts?
