"Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalms 119:105).

Today, we will continue our Daily Devotional discussion on the Word sometimes being rejected and the fear of that happening. I will begin the study by reiterating that this is God's business when He gives a Minister a Word that is needed at that specific appointed time. We, as preachers, are simply vessels yielded to perform God's will for our lives as we carry His Word. Even if you are not a pastor or preacher, it's important to know that at times, as you witness to people, the Word may be rejected. There's no reason to fear as long as the Word is from God and not our emotions getting the best of us. The Bible says, "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath" (James 1:19).

Our emotions can lead us to a place where we do not want to go. The Apostle John, on the Island of Patmos, heard a Word from the Lord giving him the revelation. The Apostle John says, “And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.” (Revelation 10:9-10).

What is being said here is that there will be times when the Lord gives the preacher a Word that we know is like a horse pill with no water. In other words, it's hard for you to swallow and for the people receiving it as well. The Word is always sweet, but what it does at times when we digest it, there can be an unpleasant residue down inside afterward. More on this tomorrow, the Lord's will. "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalms 119:105). What are your thoughts?
