Everybody is Tempted by Things That Are Not Pleasing to the Lord

The Lord will lift up a standard against our enemies

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of March, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will focus on the HOLY SPIRIT, the third person of the Trinity. Jesus said "I will pray the Father, that He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever;" What does it mean to be filled with the Holy Ghost? Stay connected to learn more.

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." 1 John 4:4

Holy Spirit, March 7, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

Everybody is tempted by things that are not pleasing to the Lord. What might be appealing to one person, might not necessarily appeal to someone else. Smoking marijuana might excite the average person you know, but maybe a nice piece of gossip might get your attention. A person may offend you by something that they say or do. A person who cuts you off in traffic and then drives slowly in front of you. Someone else makes a turn in front of you and you want to do more than educate them about the little stick on the left side of the steering wheel. Yeah, that's called a signal! Some people have a lot to say in their cars when they'll upset at another driver. The truth be told, it's more than likely not the other driver that they'll be angry with at all!

Some people are not aware of the fact that these people are allowing evil spirits to control them and these forces embody human beings as well as animals. The Bible says “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness in this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12. Like a good prize fighter; the enemy studies our tendencies and weaknesses. He knows where to attack us. This is when the Spirit of the Lord is truly needed. The Bible says “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him." Isaiah 59:19

Yes the Lord will lift up a standard against him. He will give you supernatural strength. If you truly don't want to yield to it; He can make a former addict wave his hand at his former pusher. A man struggling with his flesh will turn down an opportunity for a few moments of elicit sex. A person who had difficulty with an undisciplined temper; now suddenly has control of it! Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world! 1 John 4:4. What are your thoughts?
