The Bible says, "For many are called, but few are chosen" (Matthew 22:14)

Do you know what your calling is? Everyone is called by God to do something significant in this world. Again, preaching is one of many ministries that the Lord calls us to, but it is not the only ministry. The Bible says, "For many are called, but few are chosen" (Matthew 22:14). An easier way to understand this passage is to read it the following way: Many are called, but few choose to receive and accept the invitation when they are called. There were several (Prophets) preachers in the Bible who were initially reluctant to receive and accept their calling. "And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue" (Exodus 4:10).

In the words of my dear spiritual son Jermaine (who is with Jesus), "Woe is me" (he had a speech impediment). Isaiah also stated, "Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts" (Isaiah 6:5). He too felt unqualified and not pure enough to carry God's Holy Word.

Jeremiah had a concern with his youth and calling as well. Jeremiah, in response to when God was calling him, says, "Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.”(Jeremiah 1:6-7). Whom God hires, there's going to be a fire, also a strong desire! You've got to preach, and there's no reason to have fear because God said so! Amen! “Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.” (Jeremiah 1:8). What are your thoughts?
