The Bible says “For if there first be a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that a man hath not. II Corinthians 8:12

Many people have heard and quoted this ourselves: "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free!" The Bible version closest to the original Greek translation of God's Word doesn't say that! KJV John 8:32 The KJB says “and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32. The Emancipation Proclamation was an Executive order released by the President of the United States Abraham Lincoln on January I, 1863. This executive order was established to abolish slavery. Many African-American Americans heard about it but chose to remain slaves. They had grown accustomed to being told when to get up. When they could eat and had no liberty to leave whenever they wished to leave. Now that’s bondage indeed! They apparently were afraid of change and preferred to remain in bondage.

In other words, you can know the truth, but until you accept it as the Truth; you'll remain in bondage, and therefore a slave to sin. The Bible says “For if there first be a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that a man hath not. II Corinthians 8:12. The Apostle Paul was speaking about the Corinthians having a mindset to want to give, and the Lord would accept their gift. But this passage also is a guide concerning any venture that you set your mind to fulfill that if it’s the Lord’s will then it is acceptable to Him. Some people hear the truth and accept it right away. Others simply remain in bondage, but once you've heard the truth it can take root in the heart! Jesus is the only way to Salvation! Praise God, that's the Truth! Jesus says “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. What are your thoughts?
