"And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God." Acts 7:56

Honor: October 31, 2022, By Dr. George Bing

For this entire month, our discussion has been about honor. There are many people in the world that perform duties to protect us and don't look for any recognition for it. First responders such as Fireman, and Medical response units such as paramedics save lives daily. Yet their names may never be printed in the newspaper. “Take heed that you do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of which is in heaven.” Matthew 6:1.

Yes, we should honor all the people that we have mentioned this month, and it doesn't matter if we feel that they deserve it or not. But the most important honor hasn't been discussed yet. I referring to the Lord honoring us! Yes, I believe that God honors us when He is pleased with our integrity. Any good parent affirms their child when he or she accomplishes something great.

May it be an accomplishment in sports, a musical concert, or performing in a play; it's commonplace to give them a standing ovation to approve their success. When we represent Him in a way that He is well pleased, I believe that He honors that. Remember Stephen in the Book of Acts. In chapter 7 after Stephen preached to the Jewish religious leaders, they were offended by his message of truth. As they were stoning him to death, he saw the Heavens open and Jesus standing at the right hand of the Father. The Lord Himself gave Stephen a standing ovation. Now that's honor from the one we should want it from. “and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God.” Acts 7:56. What are your thoughts?
