”For there is not a word in my tongue, But, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.” Pslams 139:4

Have you ever prayed about something, and your prayer wasn't answered! Before I became a Pastor and even since then; I've prayed for God to move in a situation, and He didn't move the way I expected. Why Lord why? There have been times when I've asked God to prolong life, and He chose not to! Forty two years ago on this very day I found my Grand-aunt Francena Bing Holmes unresponsive in her bed. I prayed for a miracle that she might live, but she was already gone. God chose to take her and I was absolutely devastated! Why Lord why?

My Aunt was the closest to displaying the character of Christ than any person that I had ever met or known. I had never seen anyone experience such I thought at the time that my faith had been tarnished because the Lord didn’t answer my prayer the way I thought that He should have. The Bible says “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.” Isaiah 55:8. The Apostle Paul prayed three times for God to remove the thorn from his flesh, but God refused to do it. In referring to the thorn the Apostle writes “For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness."

I have come to learn by experience that God rarely operates in a way that we anticipate that He will. Most of my prayers have been answered, but it took years for me to realize that God is too wise to make a mistake and too just to do wrong. Yes, the Lord has and will strengthen our faith through trials. It's the enemy and his minions job to shoot fiery darts of discouragement at us. He wants us to lose heart and deceive ourselves to believe that God is not hearing our prayers. These are schemes that are designed to try to get us to turn away from the Lord. Don't you realize that God knows what you're going to ask Him before it comes out of your mouth, and He wants what's best for you; praise God! ”For there is not a word in my tongue, But, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.” Pslams 139:4. What are your thoughts? t you live, praise God!” Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it.” Psalms 34:14. What are your thoughts?
