Everyone has weaknesses and things that they are tempted by. Everyone who is a follower of Jesus Christ will be tempted by the devil. All believers are supermen or superwomen in Christ, but there is something that the enemy and his staff will use to try to get us from fulfilling God's purpose for us. The question I pose is: what is your kryptonite? The Bible says “ But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.” James 1:14.
Maybe you or someone you know grew up around someone who had a problem with drugs or alcohol. Maybe it's a spirit of promiscuity that captivated you many years ago. Some people have eating disorders because of bad eating habits that began early in life. And then others have grown up with a welfare mentality and would rather rely on the government to take care of them rather than work. They will steal or scam rather than earn an honest living. "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10.
"The power that the Holy Spirit feast on is the Word of God! Whatever your kryptonite is you are a super saint because God's Holy Ghost is able to keep you from falling into the Enemy's hands. The power of the Holy Ghost is greater than any addiction, and this is the starting point to winning the war! Get every Scripture that you can on what tempts you super saint, and read them! There are certain people that you need not be around while you're digesting this Word. Now you're committed and that Word will take root in you. In the meantime, the weeds of drugs, alcoholism, sexual immorality, thievery, and other sins that have held you hostage will die. How do you kill anything? It will die if you stop feeding it! Do you really want to be kept? “That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost that dwelleth within us." 2 Timothy 1:14. What are your thoughts?
