Genesis 12:3, which states, ”and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.“

In today's Daily devotional, we will continue our discussion on the greatest name, Jesus Christ, and His power to heal. Yesterday, in our Daily devotional, we introduced and focused our attention on the story of the Canaanite woman who came to Jesus, requesting that He heal her daughter. This woman cried out to the Lord for His help because her daughter was apparently demon-possessed and likely sick as a result. ”And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil” (Matthew 15:22).

Correction: After Jesus' disciples attempted to send her away, the Canaanite woman initially faced a delay in getting the Lord to heal her daughter. However, would God heal her daughter, considering she was a Gentile? The Bible states, ”But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table” (Matthew 15:26-27).

It is important to understand that when Jesus referred to the woman as a "little dog" or "puppy," it was not meant as an insult or derogatory term as it may be perceived today. In this context, Jesus' primary concern was to prioritize reaching out to the people of Israel first, as it was through them that the world would be saved. This aligns with the promise made to Abraham in Genesis 12:3, which states, ”and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.“

Do you have great faith in the master Jesus Christ? After the Canaanite woman demonstrated great faith, the Lord Jesus Christ healed her daughter, and she was completely delivered. ”Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour” (Matthew 15:28). What are your thoughts?
