Do Whatever Jesus Christ Says to Do

Updated: Jun 29, 2023

In the game of life, people today follow the instructions of Simple Simons.

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of June, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will focus on The Truth. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Does the truth set you free or make you free? Learn the difference by following and reading this month's devotionals.

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32

Yesterday we spoke about the game of Simon Says and how you had to be disciplined in responding to the commands given by the person who was Simon. We ended the Daily devotional yesterday with a concern about Simon the sorcerer’s legitimacy in carrying the power of the Holy Ghost. A lot of people believe in Jesus, but there is no evidence that they have received the Lord into their hearts. The Bible says “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19.

Yes, a third of the angels were in heaven and saw and believed in God, but they followed the wrong instructor (Satan) and were thrown out of heaven with him. After Simon the Sorcerer was baptized by Philip the Evangelist, his hidden agenda like all false prophets (profits) would be exposed. Peter and John got word of the Gospel of Jesus Christ being received there and so they were sent to Samaria. Simon watched them intently as they were laying hands on believers for them to be filled with the Holy Ghost. He observed the power in it and asked them if he could buy this power so that he could lay hands on people to be filled and empowered.

I will address him as Simple Simon because of his bizarre thinking that the power of God could be bought! Peter rebuked him knowing that he wanted the power of the Holy Ghost for self-gain and financial profit. This man had a” form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” II Timothy 3:5. Yet people today follow the instructions of Simple Simons. In the game, Simon says you were supposed to follow his commands. In the game of life, it should be what Jesus Christ says to do! And we should do it! Amen! “His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it.” John 2:5. What are your thoughts?
