Copy of The Living Word Went to the Written Word

The Word has to be there in the heart

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of May, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will explore the most vital subject to discuss, and that is The Word! The Bible says "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword," How does that apply to our daily walk?

“then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.” Matthew 4:10

Today we will conclude our Daily Devotional discussion about the most important reason why we should know the Word of God. We shared in recent Daily Devotionals last month about the Sword of the Spirit is the only offensive weapon that the enemy fears. It sends him packing as illustrated in the most recent Daily Devotionals when Jesus spoke His Word we saw the enemy move on to a different temptation! I will share with you the real last temptation of Christ in the wilderness as the devil now tempts Jesus by trying to get Him again to defer God’s perfect plan.

The Bible says “Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and saith unto Him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.” Matthew 4:8-9. Pride is what got the devil and a third of heaven’s host thrown out and cast down to the earth. It's possible the Father allowed the devil to reign as the "power and prince of the air” on earth at that time because of the sinfulness of man. Jesus was not about to yield to a prideful spirit in the atmosphere and so He again “then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.” Matthew 4:10.

There’s no pride in Jesus and He refused to divert from the Father’s plan for all mankind to be saved! Each time our Lord and savior was tempted He immediately reminded the devil and his minion “It is written!” We also should follow the quintessential character and example of Christ. What the Word says always is the final authority. “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.” Psalms 19:7.
