” Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; A stranger, and not thine own lips.” Proverbs 27:2

Honor: October 30, 2022, By Dr. George Bing

We have been discussing the different people we should honor. There are certain groups of people that no one should dispute that deserve to be honor. We have spoken about people to honor; from parents to those who serve in the armed forces. Today I would like to talk about first responders! For those of you that may not know exactly who first responders are, I will define them for you. Law enforcement officers, firemen, and Medical response units such as paramedics. Simply put, they run toward danger and not away from it. “For God have not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, love, and a sound mind.” II Timothy 1:7

When you're in trouble and can't help yourself, they are called upon to respond! No matter the time or weather conditions; they are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I knew a young man many years ago who was a law enforcement officer that pulled a family out of a car that was on fire at the Throgsneck Bridge in the Bronx NY. If you have ever approached a building or car where the fire appeared to be out of control you are a witness to the powerful effect of the heat and danger of the flames from that kind of inferno.

Quite a few of the Officers that witnessed this heroic event insisted on him letting the Awards Committee know about it. He never wrote the Awards Committee to receive recognition for it. What I love about it is that God saw it. These are the kind of people that deserve to be honored. I will have more tomorrow.” Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; A stranger, and not thine own lips.” Proverbs 27:2. What are your thoughts?
