Honor: October 26, 2022, By Dr. George Bing

There are two offices in the Church that are ordained for service. The one that is often recognized is the office of the Minister. A licensed Minister is equivalent to a person operating a vehicle who has been issued a permit to drive. They can operate a vehicle with restrictions. This is obviously formulated this way to protect a person with a lack of experience to not be burdened or have responsibilities they’re not equipped to handle. Even though they are novices because of their lack of experience; they serve and should be honored. ”Honor all men. Love the Brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” I Peter 2:17.

The other office that an ordination is required but is not often recognized is the office of Deacon. The Deacon has the awesome responsibility of repairing anything in the Church outside of Spiritual things. That is any structural damage inside or out. If there is a disagreement between members, the Deacon has the responsibility of resolving any issues and promoting peace. ”If it possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.” Romans 12:18.

Every Church needs a good Deacon. When the Pastor is not at the Church, the Deacon is charge in his or her absence. The word Deacon means to minister. A minister is one who serves. The Deacon is one who serves the people and absolutely should be honored by them.” Likewise, must the deacons be grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;” I Timothy 3:8. The Deacon should be tested for a while walking circumspectly and be found blameless. “And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.” I Timothy 3:10.
