Years ago now I attended a High school football game in Auburndale Florida. I went to support a few of the young men who I Pastored at Anchor House Ministries. It was my first time attending a game at this particular school and apparently, the person taking the tickets realized that. He looked at me and asked; what brings you out here tonight? I found the question to be a little odd, but I advised him that I was there to support a few of our boys.
He asked me who I was and when I told him I was the Pastor of Anchor House Ministries; he said it was a special tonight, and I didn't have to pay. He added that as a matter of fact" anytime you attend a game here; " just ask for----- and you'll never have to pay. It turns out that he is the manager of ticket distribution there! Of course, I had no clue who I was speaking with at the time. This door opened because I was affiliated with a name. Anchor House Ministries' name opened the door for me. Oh, but I know better! Anchor House served as a resource that God used to open the door of favor for me. Yes, it was only a few dollars, but it gives you the joy to know the power His name carries.
Sometimes in life, you can be so wounded, and all you do is call on the name of Jesus, and His power manifests itself in you. I have been in the midst of confusion and just called on the name of Jesus, and it stopped. I have seen young men about to beat one another down and simply called on the name of Jesus and there was sudden peace! "For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name." What a joy! Psalms 33:21. What are your thoughts?
