The writer of Hebrews says: "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25

Holy Spirit, March 26, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

So many people in the world are looking for someone to give them something. So many people love being on the receiving end, but the truth be told; it's more blessed to be a blessing than it is to receive one! The Bible says “I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive,” Acts 20:35. I believe that if the average person were asked why they attend Church; most would give the same answer. Their response would be; get my blessing! The writer of Hebrews says: "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25.

To exhort means to build up and you can't encourage anyone to stay home! Giving a simple smile could make all of the difference in a person’s life. A word of encouragement could literally give a person spiritually dying inside life. Seeing that a person at the sanctuary is obviously in need of prayer and offering up prayer from them can be just what they needed, and you may be the person the Lord wants to use to do it! We attend Church to give by being a blessing to someone else. The Holy Spirit produces the seed of goodness which means giving! Goodness is giving your time, treasures, and talents. Being compassionate and allowing the Holy Spirit to make us sensitive to others' needs. If everyone attended Church for that reason; what a wonderful world it would be! “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness Galatians 5:22.
