Have you ever heard the old saying: "It's Saturday night and I just got paid." On Saturday night people get more DWIs and DUIs than at any other time. The reason is that people want to get away from the weekly routine. Party! One of the reasons that Saturday night is such a popular time to go out and the party is because most people I venture to say do not have to work the following day, and they’re more financially able on that evening to be able to afford alcohol and controlled substances. It is a temporary escape from the stresses and concerns that life possibly can cause. The Bible says “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1.
When you're under the influence of alcohol, it takes control of your actions and thoughts. Whatever is hidden deep down inside of a person, tends to manifest itself when they're intoxicated. The Wise writer Solomon said,” Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging; And whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.” Proverbs 20:1 Alcohol and drugs will ultimately cause corruption in our lives. Hallelujah, but when you've been filled with the new Wine!
He takes control of your life and after a while; there's no desire for those things that the enemy deceives so many people to be influenced by. Ain't no party like the Holy Ghost party, cause the Holy Ghost party don't stop! In the words of a classic hit song by the Beatles with the same title “It's Eight days a week! "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit" Ephesians 5:18. What are your thoughts?
