Love December 2, 2022 By Dr. George Bing

We are surrounded by temptation. There is a temptation to lie under pressure. There's the temptation to take something that doesn't belong to you without asking. There's the temptation of sleeping with someone you're not married to. And of course, there's not much sleeping going on either! There's the temptation to compromise or to complain while going through trials. Blessed means to be empowered to prosper and when God saves you, He gives us supernatural enablement to endure temptation in any area of life! Mark 10:27. Love is the greatest power ever created because it is the very nature of God. “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is Love.” I John 4:8.

When we are tempted to lie, commit sexual immorality, compromise, or complain while going through trials it takes the power of Love to override those temptations. When you love someone you truly trust them, but truth be told we can only completely trust the Lord in this world. The reason being is that people are not perfect and at some point, they’re going to fail you. Only Jesus is perfect and only His Love is completely perfected. The Bible says” being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it unto the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6. Yes, we all are works in progress as the Lord is perfecting Love in us every day. Because God is Love He is quick to forgive us when we fall short. Remember that He once was a man himself and so He can identify with the strong pull of temptation.

The Bible says "Blessed is the man that endured temptation, for when he is tried, he shall receive a crown of Life, which the Lord have promised to them that love Him." James 1:12. God doesn't only empower us here with His favor, but it is on us throughout eternity. We've got to go through to breakthrough and because we have Love which is Christ on the inside; we can overcome temptation! I Corinthians 10:13. “but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape” What are your thoughts?
