“Let thy fountain be blessed: And rejoice with the wife of the youth” Proverbs 5:18

Blessed November 12, 2022 By Dr. George Bing

Many people are seeking love in all the wrong places. Some look for it through a position at work. If I get that position it will be a blessing to me and I'll be content then. If I get the promotion, I'll be satisfied with that. It's a blessing! Let's not forget the people looking for that mate to come along; that will fill the void of loneliness, and stop the bluebirds from chirping! You've heard the old adage," the grass always looks greener on the other side." More often than not, when you get over there you discover that it's astroturf. That is artificial and it doesn't grow no matter how much you water it. There is what they call the 80/20 rule in a lot of marriages. The concept is that you more than likely have 80 percent of what you desire in your spouse. If you look and find the 20 percent that you’re lacking in another person they will not satisfy you very much at all.

The reason being is because that new person will lack the 80 percent that you already have. You can give your all in a relationship and still be miserable. The reason being is because it's not a blessing at all. You know that after the fact because there's no growth when God didn't sanction it! “What therefore God have joined together, let not man put asunder.” Mark 10:9. May it be a job, promotion, vehicle, home, or spouse, you'll know if it's from God after a while. If you're miserable on a job that you wanted so bad, that's a concern. If you're living in a house and you're always working to pay for it, and not able to enjoy it; that's a concern. If you're married and you simply are not happy with each other; that's a major problem!" The Bible says “Let thy fountain be blessed: And rejoice with the wife of the youth” Proverbs 5:18. What are your thoughts?
